I've got a year old stove that has firebrick liners and noticed that the brick closest to the door in the upper right has broken...specifically the corner closest to me has come off (about 1")...completely off, not fractured. Is that much to worry about, or is it a `replace when servicing the unit' type thing?

any pointers would be great..thx

If its only a small piece in the location described, you can leave it and replace it in the spring. A small section as mentioned isnt going to do any damage or lessen the efficiency. You might also be able to "flip" it around, so the broken part is at the bottom and might be covered by your bottom bricks. Chances are if it is a broken side brick, the bottom of it sits "behind" the bricks in the bottom of your stove.
