Got the scratches and such painted. We are letting that dry overnight and then tomorrow, the first low burn. Will probably do a couple of those and a nice steady burn to cure the paint.
Making me wish it was late Autumn already...
Question: I wiped the stove down with water prior to painting to remove dust. There are some visible fingerprints from when the stove was moved around...carried in...put in place...etc, etc.
The water took care of most of the fingerprints but there are a couple that are being a little stubborn. I would not care but they are pretty obvious when you look at the stove fairly close. (I am not OCD about much but something like that...Grrrrrrr!)
My question is: Is there a way to wash them off without affecting the un-cured paint, or will they disappear as the paint cures? That being said, I can probably live with it.
Thanks a bunch!

Try alcohol, but do a small test first.

The alcohol seemed to take the paint off...so I am going to live with the hand prints. The wifey does not seem to care so it´s all good...my mild OCD is ok with it.
