I was thinking about putting in a blockoff plate. My question is could that cause the firebox area to get too hot and warp the steel. The firebox is relatively small. Regency I2500 Insert, Exterior Chimney
Can a Block Off Plate hold in too much heat.

I would not be concerned about an insert with block off plate ever if you are running the blower. Any thing can be over fired. But under non abusive running conditions a blockoff plate is how many or all inserts are designed to be installed.
