    Question:

I just wanted to know if there was a way to do it like putting plywood above the carpet then wonderboard then ceramic tile. I thought the wonderboard and ceramic tile would protect anything underneath from the heat. If not possible please explain.

    Answer:

If you built a STABLE wood frame- then fastened it down (or by it's own weight) - then you might be OK. The biggest concern is that the hearth is likely to rock.. which is dangerous as it disturbs the stove installation and can possible crack the hearth.
