Checking hydraulic fluid level

When you check the bubble level on the tank should you have ran the splitter a few minutes to get it warmed up prior to checking the level?..thanks
 
I check it cold. Some dipsticks are marked for hot and cold levels. The fluid expands when it's hot. A few minutes isn't going to make much difference in fluid temp.
 
Figure, it should be above the bottom line of the range when cold and below the top line of the range when it's hot.
