You can make anything with some Zip-ties, rope, and a Paper clip.

A metal pail should fit the bill. I can post pics and take measurements if you need a reference??
 
Used mine today for probably the 10th time. I haven't emptied it yet. I did, however, peek inside to see how full it was. It's about 1/3 full.

I have not noticed any loss in suction or other degradation of its performance as of yet.
