Hello

Here is a good site with info on the Federal Airtight which later became Consolidated DutchWest that was bought out by Vermont Castings
http://www.wood-stove.org/federal-airtight-wood-stove.html

I had a FA288CCL Wood/Coal duel fuel with removable Cat that I sold after 19 years. Nice stove.

Here is a good thread on them
https://www.hearth.com/econtent/index.php/forums/viewthread/72881/

Pic below shows 1st attempt at getting the heat upstairs. My pellet stove works much better at getting the heat up.

Does anyone else duct their wood stove??

Hello Franks

The installation in the picture was done in 1990 with all the proper clearances! Since then it has been updated!

The point here is having a fan in the duct work and a direct connection which brings up the heated air in the stove which is hotter than the 80 degree air above the stove!
