Q&A Convert Wood Stove to Pellets?

We have a Hearthstone and a Schrader wood stove and wondered if these can be converted to pellet stoves? Thank you



Answer:

No wood stove can be converted eaily to Pellets.
There are some companies who claim to have baskets or grates which may work.
I cannot speak for it's effectiveness since I have never used one of these products.
From a mechanical viewpoint, Pellet Stoves are very different than wood stoves due to the use of forced draft and auger feeding, so if you really want to burn Pellets regularly you should consider purchasing a new stove.
