I got some Sycamore earlier this year, and it is similar to sweet gum. Full of water, even
when sitting in rounds for a while. Splitting is a pita, but the grain is fairly straight unlike SG.
It burns hot and fast when seasoned.

Here is where sycamore shines: Leave a round or 3 as your splitting stump, and it is almost as hard as elm!
It'll never dry out if you leave it in the rain, and that helps transfer all the power of your axe/maul to your wood
