Do pellet stoves --smoke??

    Installing basement pellet with with chimney by walk by side door.

    Do pellet stoves smoke at times ??

    My stove only smokes when it starts up.you will have the Oder of the pellets burning.

    Yes, on ignition the auto ignite models do smoke a bit. You'll want to get a bit of a vertical run on the pipe anyway so try to take it above the door. According to our Quad manual, the exhaust should be at least 48" from the doorway and 12" above it. If there is a window above, it is supposed to be 48" from that too.
