does fan speed use more pellets?

I dont mean the temperature dial, but the fan speed dial. If I increase the fan speed (pumping more air out of my convection blower) will that result in burning more pellets?

I know if you increase the temperature using the temp dial, this makes sense to use more pellets, but I wasn't sure if also increasing the fan has the same result.

I always run my stove on stove temp/automatic. I have the heat dial always on 1 (I never change this). All I do is just tweak the fan speed between low and high if needed.

I know on my stove (enviro) increasing convection blower speed
DOES NOT use more pellets To do that I need to increase the
feed rate . Higher feed rate = more heat

Mine runs on high all the time and
has been for 17 years still running like new
I just oil the bearings twice a year

i am very glad you said that about oiling the bearings. Can you please tell me ..

1. what bearings?
2. where are they located?
3. what do you use, 3 in 1 oil?

My fan has 2 D holes for oiling
1 at the fan cage and the other at the end of the motor
I use 3 in 1 for electric motors but any good light oil will work

Many blowers have sealed bearings but no one describes what stove they have so apples and oranges here on the question.

If you read all the posts you would have seen that I did say what stove I have
It is also in the signature . Yes some stoves have sealed bearings but many
still use bearings that can be oiled.

Yes.Your Harman has a sensor in the exhaust,so,running your stove on low,it will change the pellet feed to keep the sensor temperature up.When you take that heat away(convection fan on high),it cools down faster,and feeds more pellets.You get more heat into the room.In other words,it is working fine.Not all stoves do this,actually most do not.

so your saying higher fan speed uses more pellets due to heat loss in the firebox...
I always thought so myself...has to make up the heat somehow which would be more pellets feeding. or, feeding more often.

Yes,Tony.Dwayne Harman designed a good system.Seems his goals were safety and less maintenance.His system,and Austroflamms(Rika) are still being used today.the Italian stoves use the Rika system.I ran my stove through tests,once I obtained a Harman DDM,and you can watch the feed rate go up,and the combustion fan speed up,when turning the room blower to high,after a period of time.In my opinion,a properly running Harman wastes a bit more heat,out the flue,but stays cleaner,than most stoves.

I love 1 stove(brand?) my Integra.Overbuilt,technologically way advanced,still works well,running as we speak.Harmans,to me,are the next closest thing to good heat,less maintenance.The few enviros appear to be good units.But,lets talk about the mini,probably the worst stove made,unless all the "upgrades" were made.Harman would have recalled those stoves.But,yes,as to what is available now,in our country,if I had to purchase(or recommend) a new unit,it would be a Harman,Quad,or Enviro.But,for an economy stove,that has durability,I would reccomend an Englander.
