Question:
Great site! Can I get some more info on water condensation downside of using unvented gas logs in my fireplace. Any way to mitigate problem? Why does it go into attic and not into living space where it would be useful in our extremely dry winters.
Answer:
It does not go into attic or walls unless living space humidity is already at high levels. In most cases, use of these appliances less than 5 hours per say will not result in excess moisture problems. The exception would be very tight homes in cold climates. In summary, you are correct...many homes can actually use the humidity that is put out by these products.
