Scored a nice older (1978) Earth Stove (8") and want to marry to exisiting heatilator mark 700 9" (inside diameter) chimney in the Bottom story of mid-entry home. Can the Mark 700 handle the temps of this stove? Can I score an adapter to attached the 8" single wall black pipe to the 9" (inside diameter) double wall stainless) mark 700 chimney? If this wont work, what are my options (liner?)?

INSULATED Liner is the answer you will hear most often. Best bet is to talk to your local AHJ to see what meets code.
You also want make sure that your insurance company will cover you should anything go south.
