I am having trouble with the wood hanging up and not falling to the bottom of the fire box. I am burning Douglas Fir and Tamarac.
The rounds average 10 to 12 inches in diameter and 18 inches long. I split them into 4 or 6 wedges. I put the wood into the fire box centered. This leaves a few inches of space between the front and back walls. I have noticed the wood burns faster at the front of the fire box leaving the pile of wood with a downward slant to the front of the fire box. The adjustable fan air intake vane is open about 1/2 inch at its widest point. The moisture content of the wood is 15% to 20%.
