Hello

Even though it seemed to work ok, the hopper gasket looked like it was in ruff shape.

So using a rasor blade knife, I scraped off the rope gasket. Then using some acetone, I got that goey sticky glue off! Then I put down a bead of clear High Temp RTV and almost 8 feet of half inch flat rope gasket.

The new gasket is not quite as wide but works great and sure looks better!

See pic below.

Has anyone else changed their hopper gasket?
Is it important so no air can get in and start a hopper fire?

The gasket also prevents smoke exiting that way as well as preventing a burn pot air bypass.

Yes, I ordered the gasket kit directly from ESW when they run the early bird special.
Gotta give credit to Mac for pointing out the early bird sale.

Hey Smoke

When is the Early Bird special?

I could use a new door window gasket too.

I hear the window gaskets wear out before the door gaskets do!
