Just picked up freestanding stove, putting thought some tests. Firer up the stove the lower auger runs all the time, the
auger motor run when the stove is turned off in cool down mode. This motor gets very hot and stops working, then starts running again. Does this motor have overload protection, is this normal??? By the look of the motor, it gets very hot. Could it be the control board issue?? Has anyone had a problem like this. I was going to switch the to motors and see if it happens to the top motor in the lower motor position. Any help would be great...

motor will shut down if it gets too hot , start again when cool. resistance to rotation of the auger could be the problem as it makes the motor work too hard, pull the motor and rotate the auger by hand see if its turning freely if not click n this link and select "aligning augers" http://www.englanderstoves.com/PelletServicing.html

this will help ease the sufering of that lower motor, hopefully it has not been working too hard for too long which can weaken and eventually ruin the motor
