Has anyone every taken the ESP Probe out to clean? I called my Dealer about cleaning, and he said not to use anything abrasive to clean it, and it should be shiny, silver color when done. The best I could get it was a partially silver with some brown /black left behind. I use a mild cleaner like windex to clean

Harman P61 here. Only had the stove this season and like it so far, but do you really have to take the probe out to clean it?

I have a Harman Advance 4 years now and have never cleaned the probe. Just vacuum around it when I clean the flue.

I have a new XXV (since Oct 07) and I have cleaned my ESP probe once. I noticed when installing the stove, the ESP
was sprayed on one side with the black stove paint. I guess that the factory spray painting crew weren't too careful.
I cleaned mine with Zep citrus cleaner and ended up with a shiny looking ESP.
