I lost power for 6 hours. Didn't have a generator for my stove so it got cold. When the power came back on I turned on my .... (gasp) ... oil burner and Harman to get the house back up to temperature. First time I've used oil for heating in more than a year.

Let me guess....when the run on generators in your area subsides, you'll be making a purchase? ;)

Imacman: Nah. This was the first time in the 7 years I've been here we've lost power. I'm right next to Boston/Cambridge. It seems like the power companies get the urban areas back first. I'll chance it and save my money for more fun things. (I just bought a new router table and router!)
