Q&A Fire boss wood stove

i recently purchased a home which has a wood stove in the basement the name of this stove on the front doors is the fire boss. can you tell me who makes this stove and anything about it. it appears to be working fine but i would like to know something about this stove.



Answer:

It was one of many steel plate stove made in the early 80's. There were over 400 manufacturers at the time, a number which has dwindled down to about 20 now. There is nothing special about it..simply a steel box. It will work, but not nearly as well as the modern and more efficient models.
