Hi All,

I am in Massachusetts looking for some code advice. Installing a wood burning insert with blower and my plan was to drill A hole in the side of the fireplace to pull the power cord through and plug it into a new outlet in a built in seat that exists next to the fire place.
I know you can’t put an outlet in the fire place but wondering if there is any code, or safety reason, not to punch the hole and run the cord through the side of the old brick.

That is perfectly fine
