Fireview smoke smell solved

My setup is about 17' and yes the stove will run below 1 but i get back puffs.I thought that was normal when ya don't have flame in the firebox.
 
I've had a similar problem now for 5 years with my Fireview. The acrid smell is mostly right above the loading door. Woodstock replaced the door last year since there was a bad batch at one point but still the same problem. I have a Duraplus chimney. The cleanout on the tee is just a cap with two screws. I tried sealing it off just now so will have to see what happens.
