mesquite.JPG Oh I know, id offer about 150. I got almost that much free for the hauling 4 months ago Thanks for reply!

Just getting this straight...You are gonna go to somebody's house, drop a tree and haul away the wood and give them $150 for the honor of doing the job? Wouldn't $150 buy you half a cord of cut/split stuff delivered to your door (that is $300 per cord).
Unless you want the Mesquite for a reason....

I would offer to get it off his property at no charge.

I'm thinking "Craigslist Laugh of the Day" thread - what some people won't try and do for a dollar...

If was chestnut I'd pay him $450 for it not cut into rounds. Mesquite? No way. Good luck and hope you get it for free!

140 a Cord in that ad? I would never touch a saw or splitter again for that price.

I must have worded my posting wrong, They are paying to drop the tree (700$) and selling the wood.

Mesquite is excellent fire wood right next to Hop Hornbean ( Iron wood). Usually fairly twisted up grain so a pain to split. Good barbecue/ smoking wood also. Have a rifle stock out some - real purty.
