I have a NOS fisher grandma bear that I would like to put in the house. Here is the problem I have a pre existing fireplace in the house already. Can I have a brick mason brick the fireplace up and put a hole above the fireplace to vent the stove pipe through? Also if that is possible do I have to put a stainless steal liner in the chimney?

If you have the opportunity to post some photos of the intended installation area that would be great. NOS ? So you found a brand new Fisher Grandma Bear ? Congrats on the find! Oh and if you can post photos of the stove that would be nice too.

Yeah the stove has been in a house since the seventies and sat at on end of the house while the other end had the exact stove and was the only one ever used. No fire was ever burned in the one. I will get pictures up as soon as I can. Just want to make sure I will be able to use it in the new house.
