Good morning,
I used to think I was the only Fisher Junkie, I have not found a site with the energy to want information on something I enjoy so much. You have to be glad for Coaly since he has done so much work to keep you informed.
I remember when Carl Baughman rolled into town and set up shop building Fisher stoves. He came from Idaho since the South East was the only area left for a Fisher Franshise. He and a guy on a motor cycle started putting them together and selling them one at a time. Carl enlisted locals to pick them up and deliver them when they were completed. That is when I met Carl. It went from this to the the largest employer in the county running 24 hours a day. I went by one day and told him I wanted a stove but did not have the money. He put me to work and one day told me to back up and get my stove and he did not want me to quit working. So that is how I got involved.
I am so hooked on them that years ago I did a step by step instructions on how to build a Fisher and I staged photos. They looked staged so I built the last one as far as I know last year. I built it to trade it for the 1st. fisher Carl built here in Ga. It is marked #1. I have been trying to get that stove for 20 years. I also showed my youngest son the process and he photographed it step by step and these turned out good. It is what to do and when. I was going to do an ebook and thought no one would be interested in it but me. I think I may finish it now!
Well I need to go to work and I look forward to helping Coaly answer your Fisher questions. There are models made that we did not make at our shop so I may not know anything about them. I know the Virgina group made some I never heard of. They may not of been offical Fishers. I do not know.
It will not be long and we will be firing those stoves back up. I love it.
Steve
