Hi all,

I am new to the forum and just installed a p35i over the weekend. My question is it came with 2 flame guides do I need both and if so, where does the second one go?

I have the smaller one installed and in the instructions it says to put the extended one above the smaller one. It doesn't seem to fit right.

I did research this a bit on the internet and it looks like the extended flame guide is an option but I want to confirm.

Thank you for all the help!

Adam

just got on! hey!

first of all, this is a GREAT question for the dealer who sold the stove in the first place, but, I'm sure there's a reason you're not (tho I am curious why)....

Fast answer, you need to use both. Maybe you didn't get a manual? Here is the is the install manual from Harman's PUBLIC website:

http://www.harmanstoves.com/en/Products/P35I-Pellet-Insert.aspx?page=Downloads (just click on the INSTALL MANUAL link, and download the .pdf file

now, if you go to page 22, section I, you will see how the flame guide and extension are put in place. I really recommend reading (and understanding!) your manual prior to installation.......

Thank you for your reply! I did ask the dealer and his answer was you can use it if you want. I didn't like that answer. When I asked him how it goes in he said " just stick it in there" I didn't like that answer either. I do have a manual and did see the page where they show you how it goes in but it just doesn't seem to fit right. Every thing about this stove seems to be built very well and put together nicely, this piece just doesn't seem to fit that pattern... That's why I was asking.

I really appreciate your reply!

Any suggestions or comments on the P35i would be appreciated as well.

Thank you,

Adam

the flame guide extension came out a bit after the p35i was put into production....Im guessing too much direct heat on the exchanger.....

Hmmm. My p35i is a couple of years old and did not include the extension. Wonder if I can or should get one.

I just ordered one, my dealer told me it would increase the efficiency and heat output

I just put in an order for one too. We'll see what effect it has.
Well, I put it in the way I think it goes and seems to be doing fine. I can't tell you what if any difference it makes cause this stove is new to me and haven't ran it to speak of without the extension in.
