Extension garage spring broke. Need to replace it. I know about the color coding for choosing the correct strength weight.
But, this spring has two colors: yellow and green on the ends. Say wha? Yellow is 130 pounds, green is 110 I think. But regardless, should I just weigh the garage door with a scale and pick the spring that way?
The one thing I cant figure out is, some springs are 20", and others are 27". If I get the correct spring based on the weight of the door, how do I know how long of a spring to buy? Youd think just measure my spring, but one of them is 27" and the other is 25" (thanks previous owners!)
