Question:
Why does my gas log fireplace have soot on the logs after use. I have the damper fully opened?
Answer:
Standard vented gas logs are designed to burn the gas "dirty"- that's what makes it look real...a blue gas flame is a clean one- a yellow one dirty....A dirty fire creates soot !
<p>
Note: Propane fuel often creates more soot than natural gas.
