Question:
Thanks for responding to my e-mail. The real question is, "What are the pros or cons regarding wood or gas? Are there any real reasons in a see through fireplace to choose one over the other?
Answer:
ee through fireplaces that are site-built (masonry) can have a tendency to smoke out the openings if they are not constructed correctly. An experienced mason, or a pre-fab (zero clearance) wood fireplace will help.
A gas fireplace will usually have sealed glass doors on all sides. This will make it more energy efficient than the wood one, but some people do like the open roaring fire they get from wood.
Again, life style and the tending of the wood fire are usually important factors. Hope this helps.
