When looking at the Hearth and Home Website at the new wood stove technologies I ran across a wood stove that works similar to a gassification boiler.

Take a look the xeoos Twinfire http://www.wittus.com/
It says it is 93% efficient.
If it had a bigger box with over 24 hour burn times, this would be a stove to have.

Any numbers describing woodstove operation depend very much on "known unknown" parameters, like fuel amount/condition/placement.

Then, the 93% efficiency number raises the question of how draft is maintained, with the implied low stack temp. I could believe 85-90%, which can be obtained with reasonable 6-8' single-wall pipe and stove at 75-80%. Going higher would require forced draft.

You do know that non-cat EPA stoves are gasifiers, no? Feeding the secondaries with fuel gas.

Rais & Wittus stoves are works of art, VERY heavy- .25" steel welded by shipyard workers, and VERY expensive. Your money, your choice.
