Getting lot of Clinkers now?

I guess that's the right term.. Hard carbon deposits in the burnpot.
anyways, running my stove on Room/Manual or Stove/Auto Most of the winter and other than scraping in the morning I didn't really have alot of buildup in the pot..
Now with the weather warming up this past week or so, I'm using Room temp/auto and seem to have much more hard buildup in the pot.
would that be due to not having a constant hot flame as much now and the stove shutting down quite a few times a day all week in Room/auto mode?
