Today I finished stacking the wood I moved into the barn, about five cords more or less. That should hold me for the winter since I used less than four cords all last winter. This is wood C/S/S last November & December. Mostly ash and cherry with a little silver maple mixed in. Forgot to mention that one cord is over two year old Oak that will be the last to go.

I need to expand my outside stacks so I can get a few years ahead. I have a couple cord in mounds all split up but one is going to my sister and the other is oak that needs a couple years seasoning.

Just thought I would share my relief in getting this years wood under cover. Now I can concentrate on building my future stash! It's a great feeling!

Drywall will be done by early next week, NZ3000 will also be fired up by mid-week (just dropped the dimensions off to the metal fabrication shop to make my copper chase cap/flashing yesterday), he should be calling me with a price tomorrow (not looking forward to that), and once I give him the go-ahead, should be ready by Wednesday/Thursday. I'm off for several days the week after next, that's when the stone is going up.....

I'm running it right down to the wire, the flooring will go quick with three guys......a lot of the trim will have to wait til after we decorate it for Christmas.....but I'm thinking we MAY be able to sit in front of the fireplace on Thanksgiving weekend......

Dutchman, that is great getting the wood in the barn. I moved ours into the barn about a month ago. Decided to do it while the weather was nice and wanted to then concentrate on hunting. Then the fall put the skids on that but I did manage to get out for a little while tonight so it is getting better.

Steve, the way I felt yesterday afternoon and the weather being what it was, I just somehow had to give it a try. Wife took me out on the atv and then came after me at dark. It hurt, but dang, it felt good to be out there again. Not today though as now I pay the price.

There actually was another factor. Tomorrow is a cutting party west of us and Pete even offered that I could ride with him. However, I really wanted to load up our splitter and other tools and go help. But now I'd just be in the way and it could turn out to be a super long day with the body hurting as it is. Well, I found out that it will be best for me to stay home.

Hey weatherguy, that hip should be coming along nicely by now. Just don't go out for a run. Running is a definite no-no now. But that is fine with me as I've never been much for running.
