Good article but I do think that Gulland misses a couple important points about energy usage one being that as prices rise people naturally trend to alternatives (which is a good thing). He mentions people need to learn to do more with less but that is also the direct nature of a competitive system. The companies that improve energy efficiency on existing technology in the next few years are going to be the big winners in the marketplace.
