Is there a concept with "shocking" a Harman Pellet boiler? I'm guessing it is the hot/cold spots between full
on with the storage tank heating and not on for an extended period of time.

Does this shocking void the warranty?

The Harmon is a steel boiler which is less susceptible to "shock" than a boiler constructed of iron sections. (less being the operative word there.)
The real issue is keeping the boiler water temperature high enough to prevent it from destroying itself with creosote caused by low operating temperature.
A boiler protection valve or pump group is mandatory.
