I'm ready to install my stove pipe and I have a question... the stove collar will allow the pipe to go 3" down the collar, but the stove pipe I bought has a crimped end and a collar that will only allow the pipe partly down the collar. Do I just put the pipe in the collar and screw it as is?

Yes, tap it down snugly and then screw it in place.

No problem. It will look nicest with the seam to the back. Ask away if you have more questions and remember to use 3 screws, 120º apart at each pipe joint. Also, with single wall be sure it is at least 18" away from any combustible surface.
