I'm a newbie, so any information will be greatly appreciated.

My dealer recommends the XXV because he says the GC60 just came out and it doesn't have a track record, and yet so many here seem to recommend it, so I'm a bit confused?

If there is any pluses-negatives or issues I would like to know, for knowledge is great.

I thought I read that the GC60 was a true multifuel burner, but nothing else was mentioned, so I would like to know if this is true, and was the other fuel wood?

I'm looking for a quiet reliable stove that doesn't need above the normal amount of maintenance to run reliably, and long run times wouldn't hurt either.

So let me know what you know, and thanks for all your help!

FWIW, I had an XXV installed in October and I love it. We have a 3,000 sq. ft house with an open floor plan, and when I set the stove to 72, it heats the whole house to 68 (we close a few doors upstairs, so it's really only heating about 2400 sq ft).

So far, I love this stove.

I believe the GC60 is a re brand of another stove, its abilities are a known quantity, hence the good press.

It will burn wood pellets, corn, wheat, and barley just for starters.

Visit the website and download the technical manuals.

The GC60 is an M55 cast. Both units are made by Sherwood industries. Do a search here for its track record.
