I just want to make sure I'm understanding completely of how to build a hearth using durock.

I have an existing mason hearth for my 30NC which is too small for the stove. Ive extended and shaped it with 2x4s and to make it flush with the existing hearth ill be adding plywood to the extended portion, then putting a piece of 1/2" plywood over the entire hearth to make a solid and even starting point.

The 30NC requires 1.5 R value.. so if i use four (4) 1/2" pieces of durock on top of the now even and level hearth, the R value should be met (not including the tile yet) and my hearth install should be compliant with the englander user manual/code?

as long as the R value is met above the combustible material, the install should be fine? Just wanted to touch base because is seems so simple.
