Heat shield for hearth stove?

We've finally decided on a Jotul 400 Castine to put into our masonry fireplace. It will fit and the hearth extends far enough to not need any work.

Would having a heat shield on the back of the stove (an available option) help reflect more heat into the house -- it's an exterior chimney.
