Help with Jotul 8TDIC Cat. Wood Stove Installation

I picked up this circa 1989 Jotul 8 w/ catalyst. I know people don't love this stove, but it was very gently used and I'd like to make it work. It was vented out the top, but I need to vent it out the back. What way does the catalyst unit attach to the back (catalyst facing up or down?). Anything else I should be thinking about while setting up the stove.

The manual says NOTHING about changing the direction of the cat for horizontal venting, only the flue collar.
