Fat, balding guy with glasses in a polyester uniform? Yup . . . that was me . . . well I wasn't in the bouncy house . . . actually they said something about a weight limit . . . but yeah we had a bouncy house at our Open House . . . that's why I was passing near your home town . . . had to make the drive to Belfast to pick it up.

I remembered you saying that, and it was a day or two later they had the Public Education Officer (?) outside it talking about the open house, noticed his name was Jake, just wondered. A genuine TV celebrity right here on Hearth.com

Weird, not what I expected for Jake's first appearance on the news. I have to admit, though, this is a wayyy better scenario than I imagined. Wait, there were no handcuffs involved, right?

Well there was a cop there doing Iris scans -- but he was pretty busy the whole time . . . didn't even get to eat lunch . . . ended up doing 50 or so Iris scans. I did offer him a doughnut and coffee earlier in the day . . . but the guys thought my truly friendly gesture was just rubbing his nose in the whole cops and doughnuts thing.

We haven't had a real dalmatian in the station since the late 1800s, maybe early 1900s when they were used to guard the horses.

As for Sparky . . . he was there . . . I actually convinced the new Fire Inspector that it was his job to be the costumed Sparky for the day . . . and he did a nice job of being both Sparky and then later Smokey Bear.
