I got my boiler last fall and burned what I had but was not ready with wood at the right length or dried correctly. By February I was burning fresh cut ash and anything dead I could get out from under the snow.
I promised myself I would be in better shape this year but didn’t know how much I would really need. My best guess is that I burned 10 cord of crap last year so I set a goal of 30 cord CSS by the time I fired off the boiler this year.
I lit off the boiler yesterday and went around and measured all my stacks.
I have 31+ cord CSS with quite a bit of red oak on the ground and a huge log of white oak down at a friend’s house 25 miles away.
