Holly as firewood?

Have access to quite a bit of it, but never burned it before. Pretty dense stuff. Anyone ever tried it?
 
Anything burns except Apitong but you'll never have any of that unless you try to burn old semi trailer flooring.

Thanks for posing that question. I like stuff that makes the flames more interesting. I never see any dead holly around here.
 
Holly has a janka hardness of 1020, similar to cherry, walnut. I'd expect it to burn well.
 
Now that is some good information right there. Im about to have two big hollys taken down in the yard. I'll be keeping them for firewood now.
 
Burns with a nice lively flame, had some a few years back, real white grain.
