Q&A How many gas fireplaces are sold

I would like to know the following information about gas fireplaces.
1) The number of gas fireplaces produced in 1995- 1994 and 1993 by category such as top vented- direct vented and vent-free.
2) The number of gas fireplace produced in 1995- 1994 and 1993 by major manufacturers such as heat-n-glo- majestic- martin- marco- superior- heatilator- canadian fireplace- mendota- FMI- etc.

WOW- a tough request. No one has exact numbers- but the HPA (Hearth Products Assoc.) has a pretty good Idea. However- unless you are a member (and a manufacturer)- they will not share the data. I can assure you that the numbers of Vent-Free logs and Fireplaces sold numbers in the hundreds of thousands- Vented logs also in the 200,000 to 400,000 range. As for Gas Fireplaces and Stoves- a Guess of 250,000 to 450,000 would be my take- but it's just a wild guess.Sorry i can't be more accurate.
