How much rope gasket do I need to redo my both doors ash pan and griddle?
The stove is VC Defiant Encore 0028. Also, is it 1/2 inch or 5/8 width?
    Thanks

Damn, I forget the length. The size, as Pen points out in the manual, is 5/16.

Be sure to stretch (not much) the gasket as you put it in place. If you bunch it up/condense it the doors will not close.

    Thanks!
I should know this by now! Done it several times..."the age thing..."
    I figure 3' for griddle (5/16)
    6' for doors (5/16)
    And 4' for ash (3/8)

Thanks Pan for the link and refresher

I stopped using the standard gaskets for the griddle and went with the recommended reinforced gasket that come in the kit.

I actually went the other way, it still looks good after three yrs
But I might as well redo all the easy ones. I found the steel meshed one only was good for about three yrs before the steel all broke apart and leaked air.
