Hi
Looking for info on testing an auger motor. the auger has stopped working on our vermont castings reliance, both the fans work and have got some previous info on testing it but we have a few more questions.

1st when checking for power do you check the auger itself or the auger motor?
2nd if checking the auger motor what wires would we hook the jumper cable too?

any help appreciated

thanks, The Quints

I am sorry

Hook the power to the leads, does not matter as long as it is AC.

The motor can be still in the unit or on a bench. It will turn if it works. Remember it is 1 RPM and it will move slow. A 4 Rpm turns faster.

RE: The Auger motor.....

Harman made the internals for the VC Reliance Pellet stove, so it is just possible that a Harman replacement part will work. Still, you would need to have the motor removed and confirm the part numbers on it, etc.

One way or another, you can get a matching motor....as these are "generic".
