Do I need a boot or some type of an adapter to connect my offset adapter to my insert? Can the adapter just slide in the stove and let gravity hold it in place? Thanks for any help.

that's how i do mine however i do seal the joints with furnace cement

I'm not sure about the offset adaptor, but when connecting my liner to my Hampton (made by Regency) there were supposed to be some brackets that screwed down into the top of the stove as well as into the liner. I think there were holes already in place on the top of the stove if I remember correctly.
