A friend of mine is just getting his homemade boiler into
operation and we were discussing how to filter the water going
to the house and do we drain after running it for a little while??
If we are to filter it, what type / kind of filter do we used??
Thanks for any help!!

I have a thread asking about vertical installs, where cleaning out the tanks came up.

This was shared in response to "when do you need to drain the tanks?"

"When you first fill and add cleaner you have to heat up to temp then drain and flush."

We were specifically discussing used propane tanks as thermal storage. What solution do you have - do you have a thermal store?

you need to have your water tested to determine what needs to be done.
