This is the third year that we are buying logged loads that we will cut and split ourselves. Each year it seems that it is increasingly harder to find a load and this year we have been trying since early spring without luck.

Does anyone have a good source where you can look up suppliers in Central NY or is it strictly word of mouth and newspaper advertisements?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Many loggers are out of business or on Haiatus due to the downturn in the lumber markets. If you see a pile in someones yard stop in and ask. They might or might not tell you. Some guys are keeping their sources top secret these days. Good luck ,it's late in the year. More than likely anyone who has it is top dollar and has a long waiting list.
