I've had a large VC winterwarm fireplace insert since 1995 and the refractory unit (that holds the catalytic unit) finally died falling apart. I've been doing maintenance for about 5 years (gasket replacement, cleaning) but want to know how to get the old unit out and replace it with a new one. Already have a replacement catalytic unit on the way but this is new or me.

Thanks for the link - I've already got the Manual and as always, they are a little obtuse in their explanations on maintenance. Installing the sucker - tons of data but not really much on maintenance.
