I have the BR42-2 and I called the manufactuer and yes, it is approved for wood/pellet inserts.
 
I have a Lennox LBR and I installed an insert. I called Lennox and insert manufacture to make sure it would work.

Thanks. The only concern I would have would be the weight of the insert since it is a cantelever fireplace and chimney attached to the side of the house.
