Insert Question(s)

I signed up to the forum today after reading some old posts.
I'm looking at buying a used pellet insert for my fireplace in the basement.
It will (hopefully) be a pretty standard install. My question is: how do you get the round exhaust pipe past the rectangular damper opening? Just bend/crimp it at that point?

What size exhaust are you going to be using? Mine just fit through it and then we insulated around it.
